My grandmother used to tat lace edges for my dresses when i was very young. Her hand movements were so fluid and beautiful while she was tatting. This memory came back to me recently when i decided to teach myself various lace making techniques. While looking through various techniques i  realised how simple the tools and techniques for tatting was. My grandmother gave me her shuttle and some old tatting instruction books which i am using now to learn this craft.

I have been practising this technique and is keen to explore its potential in interactive textiles or soft electronics. I am also in the process of learning bobbin-lace making technique which is another dying craft.
